Senator Carper’s Statement on Passing of Richard Trumka, AFL-CIO President

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.) issued the following statement on the passing of Richard Trumka, president of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO):

“Richard Trumka was a relentless champion for the American worker. He fought every day to advocate for a fairer America and the dignity of a day’s work. I’m deeply saddened by his passing and send my condolences to loved ones and the millions at the AFL-CIO who’ve been touched by his committed leadership. May his memory inspire all of us to continue his legacy.”
