Senator Carper Statement on the Fourth Senate Passage of a Temporary Bipartisan Funding Agreement

The agreement ensures that the federal government will be funded through mid-March

Today, U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.) released the following statement after the Senate voted to pass the bipartisan funding agreement, H.R.7463, which would provide short-term funding for the federal government. The Senate passed the agreement by a vote of 77-13.

“We cannot continue to make a habit of voting for continuing resolutions while American families live in constant uncertainty every month. While we voted, once again, to avert a government shutdown this evening, we cannot govern effectively like this. I urge my colleagues on both sides of the Capitol dome to come together in order to find a bipartisan path forward to fully fund the government for this fiscal year.”
