Video: Carper Celebrates Senate Passage of Bipartisan Growing Climate Solutions Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-Del.), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), today joined Senators Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.) and Mike Braun (R-Ind.) in a press conference following Senate passage of the Growing Climate Solutions Act. This bipartisan legislation will help farmers and foresters address climate change and reap financial benefits from their efforts.

“We want the farmers to stay on the land and continue to farm. One of the great ways to make sure that happens is to develop an economic model that will enable the agricultural community and the forestry community to improve their economic standing—to create greater earnings and income for themselves,” Senator Carper said. “This legislation creates that economic model to help incentivize farmers to stay on the land. It’s encouraging them to do well by doing good at the same time.”
