Sen. Carper Encourages Vets to Participate in Today’s Virtual Job Fair

Virtual job fair for veterans will feature 60 military-friendly employers

WILMINGTON – Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del) encouraged veterans seeking employment to log onto a virtual job fair today, November 10, 2011, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to connect with national employers who have jobs to fill. Veterans can still sign up by logging on to http://www.veteranscareerfair.com.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, in partnership with Milicruit.com, is sponsoring this nationwide, virtual online job fair featuring more than 60 military-friendly employers from both the private and federal sectors. Veterans can log in and visit employer booths, view job openings, apply for jobs, watch employer videos and presentations, chat live with recruiters, and complete on-the-spot video interviews.

“As a former Naval flight officer, I understand the sacrifice that our service men and women and their families make to serve our country,” said Sen. Carper. “That is why I will continue to serve them by supporting benefits and services like this job fair.”

Veterans can also interact with VetSuccess counselors to learn more about VA benefits, as well as additional resources and tools for transitioning service members and family members regarding training, employment, and independent living.
