Senator Carper Plans to Survey the Damage of Hurricane Isabel

Carper to thank emergency responders

***Statewide Tour Tomorrow, September 19th*** Wilmington- U.S. Senator Tom Carper will tour the state tomorrow to survey the damage caused by Hurricane Isabel, and to thank the hundreds of emergency responders who helped Delaware cope with the storm. The Senator is ready to do whatever he can on a federal level to help the residents of Delaware. His schedule will be based on those areas hardest hit by the storm. Tentative plans include visiting shelters, beach communities and the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s local operations center. “Today, when I toured the Glenville community in New Castle County I saw devastation. I am praying that Hurricane Isabel spares those residents and people across the First State from her wrath,” said Senator Carper. “I want the people of Delaware to know that the entire congressional delegation is ready to react on a federal level. However, we hope that Mother Nature doesn’t force us to do so.” A revised media advisory detailing the Senator’s schedule will be available tomorrow morning after 10:00 a.m.
