Carper to Run with 1,200 in Charity Marathon, Proceeds of the Ceasar Rodney Half-Marathon Benefit American Lung Association of DE

WILMINGTON, DE – Senator Tom Carper will join over 1,200 marathoners this Sunday on a thirteen mile run to raise money for lung cancer research and the American Lung Association of Delaware. The 38th annual Caesar Rodney half-marathon will wind its way through downtown Wilmington and the city’s revitalized Riverfront. “I am so pleased to join over 1,000 people prepared to go the distance in the fight against lung cancer and child asthma,” said Carper, who is the event’s Honorary Chair. “We are literally running against the clock to find a cure for those battling lung cancer.” Originally formed in 1904 to battle tuberculosis, the American Lung Association is a national leader in promoting lung cancer research, assisting children struggling with asthma, and promoting clean air. After running the half-marathon, Carper will present the winners with their awards.
