Senator Carper celebrates National Charter Schools Week

Students from Clayton’s Providence Creek Academy share their Charter School experiences with the Senator

Clayton, DE- Kindergarteners through sixth graders from Providence Creek Academy will visit with Senator Tom Carper on Monday, April 28th. It’s all part of the 4th annual National Charter Schools Week 2003, which celebrates the important role that charter schools are playing in expanding choices for students, teachers and families all across America. Senator Carper played a vital role in the creation of Providence Creek Academy. He helped secure funding to facilitate the Providence Creek Academy opening this past fall. “Providence Creek Academy empowers teachers, administrators and students to be creative,” said Carper. “Providence Creek works because it finds creative ways to bring the outside world into the classroom. Real-life experiences help make the transition into the real-world easier for students.” Join Senator Carper and students at Providence Creek Academy as they celebrate National Charter Schools Week 2003.
