Senator’s Schedule for Thanksgiving Day, Tom Carper Serves Up Thanks in the Delaware River Valley
WILMINGTON, DE – Senator Tom Carper will hold true to his holiday tradition Thursday by running a 10K race benefiting multiple sclerosis research in the morning and serving Thanksgiving dinner afterward to the some of the most in need in Wilmington. As he has many times in the past, Carper will join Congressman Mike Castle at the Emmanuel Dining Room to serve roast turkey, stuffing, corn and homemade pumpkin pie. The home cooked food will be donated by Lee Gallagher and served by her staff, as it has been every Thanksgiving for the last 18 years. “This is the time of year when we draw loved ones close. This will be a different kind of holiday season though I think, one where we will reflect on the value of our families and our good fortune a bit longer than usual,” Carper said. “This Thanksgiving we will all hug our kids just a bit tighter.” 9:15 a.m. 2001 23rd Annual 10K Run for MS PNC Bank Center 222 DE Avenue, Wilmington 11:30am- 1:00 p.m. Thanksgiving Dinner at the Emmanuel Dining Room 2nd & Jackson, Wilmington
