Homeland Security and Conservation: Protecting the First State and the Nation

DOVER, DE – Senator Tom Carper will emphasize the importance of the Delaware National Guard Monday, at the deployment ceremony of the 153rd Military Police Company. With over 150 soldiers being activated, this is the largest mobilization of the Delaware Army National Guard since World War II. The soldiers will serve as part of a task force helping to provide site and installation security for U.S. interests in Riyadh. Later in the day, the Senator will visit with Kent County seniors, distributing information and applications for the new Together Rx discount prescription drug program. He will tour the Simon Circle Boys and Girls Club and address the National Association of Conservation Districts. “The Delaware National Guard protects our health and safety in our time and conservation protects our open space for all time,” Carper said.
