Over 1,000 to Join in Fight Against Aids, Carper Serves as Co-Grand Marshall of Aids Walk Delaware
WILMINGTON, DE – Over 1,000 Delawareans will walk together in the fight against AIDS this Sunday. Senator Tom Carper, along with Mayor James Baker and the Detroit Shocks’ Val Whiting, will serve as Grand Marshals of the 15th Annual Delaware AIDS Walk in Rockford Park. “This is a day to gather together in service,” Carper said. “It is a day to remember those who lost their lives to AIDS and to work together towards finding a cure.” WHO: Over 1,000 Delawareans, Senator Carper, Mayor Baker, Val Whiting WHAT: Joining to fight AIDS at the 15th Annual Delaware AIDS Walk WHERE: Rockford Park, Wilmington, DE WHEN: Sunday, September 30, 2001.
