Senator Carper Congratulates Two Delaware Companies on Winning President’s Exporter Award

WASHINGTON – Today, Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.) commended two Delaware-based companies, General Separation Technologies, Inc. (GS-Tek) of Newark and ILC Dover LP, on receiving the President’s “E” Award, given annually to the organizations that have been instrumental in helping expand the American exporting sector.

“I’m very proud that two First State businesses are being recognized for playing a role in helping our economy thrive,” Sen. Carper said. “I have long pushed for opening and expanding markets for U.S. exports to allow businesses to grow, and ILC Dover and GS-Tek are two great examples of what happens when you create a nurturing environment for entrepreneurs to succeed. Congratulations to both companies on this well-earned award.”

Newark-based GS Tek manufactures chromatographic products to assist in chemical engineering. ILC Dover LP produces soft goods to aid government and private sector, including the Department of Defense and NASA.

The President’s “E” Award was created by executive order of the president on Dec. 5, 1961, to afford suitable recognition to persons, firms, or organizations which contribute significantly in the effort to increase United States exports. The awards ceremony was hosted by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker.
